Shower inclosure

We upgraded to a new Jayco this year and I noticed the shower inclosure is loose on all three sides, particularly along the bottom against the tub. It seems to be held in place with some plugs. Is that normal? I am thinking about calking to keep the water out. Does it matter? Thank you in advance for your replys.

And this is a good question, Ours came with a shower liner also. I noticed it was not sealed also. I used silicone and caulked all the edges, the bottom far wall came loose. This past weekend i cut it off then recaulked. This weekened we will see how it holds up. The way i see it the more water you can keep out from between the liner and the wall the better. I am just going to keep a close eye on it and make sure its not trapping water between there. I have been meaning to ask this question also, glad you did!

The shower walls are supposed to be "loose". The tub edges go up the walls about 6 inches and the shower walls overlap them. The reason the top is not sealed is to allow the moisture to evaporate from behind the shower walls. Sealing will only hamper proper ventilation.

We asked our dealer about the same thing and were told that it not caulked at the bottom on purpose for ventilation. I see no problems so far and agree.

Yep. There is a lip that should go up all around the tub so unless you are shooting water up there, it should be fine. I imagine they make it that was to allow things to flex.

Yep, they are not supposed to be caulked even though that gap looks mighty inviting to a caulk gun.
