Went to our lot yesterday to spend the weekend in our TT. We have a 25RKS, the shower has a glass center door panel and two side panels...one of the side panels was shattered. We're puzzled over what may have happened. The TT was parked in our long term lot so hadn't been moved & there was nothing left in (or around) the shower that could have fallen & hit the panel to cause the break. Anyone else have this happen and how hard is this to repair. Our warrenty expired in April (of course).
Tempered glass is known to shatter sometimes for no reason at all... It's actually under a LOT of stress just sitting there... All it takes is a bit of temperature change and that just shatters the entire sheet...
Happens a lot on cars... I used to change automotive glass and had to change out tons of windows due to this "phenomenon."
Tempered glass is very strong when hit on its flat surface. However, a slight tap or stress on the edge will cause it to shatter. Perhaps there's a screw head or something close to the glass edge and thermal expansion allowed it to put pressure on the edge.
