And what about the feasibility of creating a template for what you want and taking it to a plastics store (e.g., Tap Plastics) to have something made that could double as a cutting-board?

Well my trailer is in for service right now so I don't have access to it. Yes they are biscuit colored. The dealer took the serial #/model # from my sink to order them.

BTW, they fabricate per their home page and ship too via UPS.

That has not been my experience. I used it on two TT so far to remove the sink label, and several additional times in both sinks and the tub to remove the plumbers putty that seeps with use. I have seen no indication that anything in GooGone has degraded the plastic.

Use what you want, I just wanted to share something that worked for me.

I expect the price won't change much as unless the dealer can get it from a standard supplier and put the order in along with other things, I bet they may pay the same price and shipping costs. And have the same brokerage fee issues.

I will call and ask them though in case I get lucky. $60 I'd pay. Double that or more? No.

Well UPS is the main issue here. LOL Their brokerage fees are insane so it makes it not worthwhile to order most anything if it's being shipped through them.

Baby oil might work too. I use it to get stickers off car windows and kitchen floors. ;-)

I went to Wal Mart, bought two cutting boards (plastic) for less than $19 and cut them to shape, sanded and polished edges. They look great. I did it this way because I was not aware there were already custom fit ones available.

Sink cover

They are pretty nice, heavy and the top side is textured. Might have to use a cutting board on top of them! Don't want to scratch them...lol or I think I might use one as a template and cut one out of a cutting board like NVGun40 did. Did you drill a hole to lift them out of the sink?

Yes, I drilled holes to utilize lifting them out of the sink. The large one is a 3" x 3/4" that fits three fingers and the small one is a 3/4" hole. I am not thinking of getting one large cutting board and cutting that to fit instead of having two. I posted pictures on my profile of the finished product.

My thought process the whole time was to have sink covers that would double as cutting boards.

That's exactly what I want. I wish the company was more cooperative. Still don't get why they wouldn't ship to me using postal service.

As an aside, I thought people said theirs had slots in them? Did they change them? And do you know if they will take heat? Might be a nice spot for a hot pot if they do.

My TT didn't come with them either. Trying to decide how much I would use it. Maybe for the added counter space.

If you call a few local cabinet shops, you will find some that fabricate Solid Surface (ie Corian type) products. Take a template to them and they can fabricate sink covers for you. I did that often when I had my company.
As far as heat, no plastic will stand up to a hot pot. Also, if draining boiling water, turn the cold water on and pour the hot water into the stream to temper the water, hot water can cause issues with the plastic sinks.

I just added them to my order. They were $40 for the X254.

Well I wasn't making the assumption that they were plastic. I have some cutting boards at home that are pressed fibres of some sort and have a similar look. They can take a hot pot.

We have these in our X23B and the DW loves 'em! It adds to the counter space, and she uses them as a cutting board as well.
