Skylark cabinets
I folks. I have a 2011 Jayco Skylark. Some of the hinges on the upper cabinets have started to come loose from the doors. The screw holes are augered out. Has anyone done cabinet door rehinging?

Haven't done any re-hinging, but an ides that works for me on stripped out screws. Take wooden kitchen match sticks, and a dab of wood glue, and put stick them in the screw hole. Cut them off flush, and reinstall the hinge screws. That'll give the screws new material to bite into.

Golf tees can also be used. Just use a dab of glue on them before tapping them into stripped out hole. Then just cut them flush just like was mentioned before. Some new pilot holes and your good to go.

I’ve had to do the above to a half-dozen or more of mine. I like toothpicks, I cut them into pieces that will be flush or slightly recessed when pushed into the hole, and put as many as will fit into the existing hole covering each with carpenter glue. I feel toothpicks work better than matchsticks as the matchstick wood seems softer. I also repaired one that had cracked the wood by drilling the hole larger and inserting a short piece of dowel and glue.
I find it better to completely remove the door as step one. I also seem to find loose screws after we move the 5th.

I have a 2011 Skyark and have had no issues with the upper storage cabinets. The only cabinet we've had a problem with is the latch on the closet by the bathroom sink. I repaired the holes with a sliver of maple and some carpenter glue. Match sticks are made from very soft wood, so I wouldn't recommend them.

Good idea to check the screws from time to time.
If they are left loose the holes will strip out.

Cabinet screws stripped
The hinge screws on a cabinet door are stripped. How do I fix something like this? My first thought is to drill out the hole to the size of the smallest wooden dowel I can find, then insert a short piece of the dowel (with wood glue), and reinsert the screws. But I'm no wood-worker, so I would appreciate hearing better ideas. Thanks!

If they are stripped in the wood and keep spinning, take the screw out and snap off a few wood toothpicks in the hole. The screw should go in tight after that.

Tooth picks work better if you first fill the hole and coat the ends of the tooth picks with wood glue.
