Skylight replacement 2007 29BHS

I bought a 29 ft jayco travel trailer that had hail damage and broke the skylight dome over the shower. I have measurements of the opening but I'm not quite sure if that is exactly the information I need to replace both the outer dome and the inner dome over the shower. I also need to find out what the stuff is that they seal on the roof around covers. It is not your standard exterior household caulk. Can anyone advise?

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

We replaced ours a few years ago, and they wanted measurements on the length/width of the dome, and of the outer total length/width. We bought one made of Lexan.

The sealant will be Dicor self-leveling caulking, for between the flange and roof, and then on top all around the screws.

Lexan! It stays clear due to UV blocking in the plastic and most likely you can stand on it without it cracking, acrylic doesn't block UV and will always be yellow and brittle.

Once the replacement is installed I’d suggest applying EternaBond tape to the perimeter of the dome.

After 5 years my dicor was cracking so I used a plastic putty knife and low powered heat gun and removed it. I replaced it with Etearnabond tape covering the screws and extending out onto the rubber roof. 4 inch width worked well. When (if?) I replace it I will cut it at the edge of the old plastic and just put down new over the old tape.
If you need exact size just scrape off a little dicor to find the edge of the flange.
