slide maintenance

Wondering what everyone's habits are for maintaining proper slide operation. We have had our Jay Flight 28RBDS for almost a year - this weekend while running the slide in and out we noticed a slight rumbling feel and noise. The trailer was level at the time.
Is that pretty much normal? We're getting ready to order a can of slide lubricant and seal conditioner...

We have always kept the slide sidings waxed and the seals coated with Slide Seal Lube.

I have not done any real maintenance on my slide. Mine is electric, and I do not have an awning topper. I just treat the seals and make sure the roof is kept clean. My electric slide out does have a rumble to it.

If I had a hydraulic system, I would expect you would need to complete maintenance on the hydraulic system.

You probably need some dry silicone lube on the tubes. Besure it's a dry lube so it doesn't collect dust and dirt

I am curious about this also. I thought I needed to apply a dry silicone to the slide mechanism, but reading owners manual, it states the slide mechanism needs no lubricant.

Other online help sites recommend yearly clean and lube. Owners manual says no need for maintenance?

I sprayed seal protectant on my seals last weekend just to keep them soft. My manual says the 'rack and pinion' stuff can be left alone, but I put a very light coat of spray lube designed for that on them as well. I can find a link if anyone is interested, but it's just basic RV lubes you can find on amazon. I'd be a little careful about spraying the rack that your slide runs over, if they say it's not needed at all, a super light film is probably all you need... my OCD dictates that I need it even though I supposedly don't, just go easy.
