Slide out issues

Anyone have problems with the slide outs only working if hooked up to shore power? my slides will not work under 12v without the 110v hooked up. All other 12v accessories work just not the slide motors.

You may have a bad/weak battery and being hooked to shore power gives it an extra boost. Low voltage/current will mess with the slides.

Might also have a bad ground. Enough draw to operate the 12v lights but not the draw on the electric motors.

I recently was doing maintenance on my trailer prepping for long drive to florida,I had noticed my tongue jack was slow and slides and stabs all were slow when running off the battery.I took off battery cover to find the battery box was 3/4 of the way full of water and all the wires for associated stuff mentioned were corroded and the 30amp fused line had actually broke off from the wire nut.I restriped all wires and used some die electric grease and got a new wire nut and retightened them up.Everything is working great now and fast as it was from day one.I also drilled a few holes in the battery box so this does not happen again

slide out issue

Thanks these are all great recommendations, I know that I have no water in the battery box however I am thinking the issue might be with the wire nut that they used to feed the jack, trailer lights and trailer 12v. Ill check it out tomorrow. thanks for the response

This is why my 30 amp fuse on the battery would blow when I used the slide when not hooked to 120. Dealer caught it when we took the trailer in for warranty work.
