Slide-out question....

Hi All

Well it's still a rollercoaster ride here in the White Elephant. Oh and by the way, "We harbor no ill will toward Jayco." With exception to the problems WE REALLY LOVE OUR JAYCO QWEST. I even have considered rebuilding it in time.

With that said, after putting in a new slide seal I have discovered that my slide-out sits too low to contact the top wiper and is too close to the bottom wiper.
Is the height of the slide-out adjustable and if so how and where? My side out works fine and goes in and out smooth.

Thank you all for your patience with me and for your input.

Harry

If it's a Lippert slide-out, find the model number and it may be one of the owner/service manuals on the following Lippert list:

Thank you for the input. I looked and all those are motorized I think. Mine is a manual couch slide out.

Can you get under the camper and look at the slide mechanism to see if you see any means to raise of lower angle of the slide? I did a google search, but most of them talk about adjusting the electric slides.

Ok, I looked underneath and found 2 of the I believe 6 bolts that hold the slideout were loose and 1 missing the nut altogether. I am guessing here but it seems the only way to raise the slideout is to loosen nuts, raise slideout from outside with a jack and a 4x4 etc and then put in shims. Is there a Jayco tech on here that can confirm this? Also where do I get hands small enough to fit in under the couch to get at the nuts?

I've never changed a slide out gasket, but, can you switch the top and bottom sweeps? Are they the same size with holes in the same places? May not be possible, but it's the first thing I'd try.

Harry,

I would give Jayco Customer Support a call at (574) 825-5861, they would be another good source for technical feedback as well.
