Slide Question

We have a 2011 G2 25RKS and have to open slide when we make a rest stop to access the bathroom. Now we have just been putting the slide out just as far as needed to open door to bathroom. The question is should we be opening it up all the way or we ok with just doing it the way we are on the walk thru when we got the TT question was ask and service guy said it was ok to open just a little then close but have been hearing that this might not be right.

I have 2013 32TSBH and we only put slide out enough to open the door. That's how dealer showed us when we picked it up. Any one know of reason not to do this?

That's the same issue I have with my 2014 24FBS. Hope you get a good response or two.

If your just open the slide enought to get by then there's no problem, I do it all the time. The issue comes when it's left partially deployed and it rains or if left open long enough, critters can find their way in through the vertical seals.

We have the same trailer. I have started leaving the bathroom door open when we retract the slide for travel. We find there is enough room to squeeze past into the bathroom from either direction without operating the slide. We try to remember to put a pillow behind the door so it doesn't bang against the thermostat while going down the road.

I agree with Firefighter. We partially open ours all the time to access while in route to our final destination.

The only thing you have to be careful of when the slide is partially open is that the inside floor edge of the slide is raised above the main floor, and has no support. It is not a good idea to step on or put weight on that unsupported slide floor. Otherwise, there is really no problem with stopping and starting the slide in mid-cyle, IMHO.
