Have to have one installed over my slideout. Think they would be a great convenience. As it is now, I pack the motor from my shop vac and use it like a leafblower. Blow off all debris and water before pulling in slide out. To assist in this, I also pack a 5ft alum. ladder in the back of my pick up. Ladder is always good to have, has been borrowed a few times at campgrounds by guys that didn't have one or forgot to pack one. Better to have slide cover. Have watched a video on how to install. Doesn't look at that complicated.

I asked Jayco about adding slide topper to my 26rls. After checking my vin they said it was not framed for it.

We have them and wouldn't be without them for these same reasons.

The first TT (X23) did not have one (single slide). When negotiating the deal on our 5th the dealer included them to "sweeten the pot". All's well. Almost.
I didn't think to specify the color of topper. Our lovely 5th is a classy "mocha" color (you know, the one where the front cap oxidizes) and has bright white toppers.
They're a low end CareFree.
Oh well, if it doesn't kill you....
Toppers? Yes, definitely, but if it's a negotiating lever make sure to agree on the details.

We are fairly new to RV's (2 years) Our first TT had one on the slider. We liked it and did what it was meant to do. Traded for a new TT with TT slides and salmon convinced us we didn't need them. After 2 trips out, we added them. They just help keep top clean and water out. No sound and no problems.

Fortunately, I have a latter on the back of the TT and climb up with a lightweight broom. Normally I don't park directly under trees so there not much up there each time. Since my TT didn't come with it I'm okay with the broom thing for now.

Our first class C didn't have them. Our second rig, a class A had them. Just had them installed on my new Jayco last week. I find the upside more appealing than the downside. Take it for what it is.

Our dealer threw the slide-topper in for us, but we were prepared to pay for it. It rains only seasonally here, but that would be camping season at the places we go. Also, there are pine trees and such, so we got the topper to protect from debris. Haven't had it out except in the driveway yet, but we think it's going to be a real help. Otherwise, as Tunce said, we'd have to take a ladder, or climb on the roof a lot.

Yep. I carry a Little Giant ladder with me just to clean off the top of the slide when bringing it in. Never thought about rain during breaking down camp, puddles on the top and H2O running down the inside when bringing slide in. I will be getting a topper very soon.
