I didn't mean to hijack this from the + and - of slide toppers to the problems they cause. I have always had them and would not want to be without. If you are in a high wind area, they can flap and be damaged by wind and hail.

Hey, that's what insurance is for.

Has anyone found a good aftermarket dealer for these? (toppers) I've wanted them, but the dealer wanted more then I can afford, even with the mortgage company! I'm pretty handy, so I could install them myself. Thanks for any input.

Do they make slide toppers for shallow slides (specifically, a 29L). The pics I see on this thread are for deep slides.

Yes, they make slide toppers for most every size slide.
