Lightbulb Slideout concern (problem/challange) 26 RLS 2012

Well, we're on the way to Utah for a the Utah Woodturning Symposium and we're in a GoodSam site in Oakley, Ks. We've had some skipping on the movement of the slideout going out and in, more in the moving in. It slides about 5 inches and stops, if I push the slide in button again, it moves about another 5 inches and stops this continues until it is finally fully retracted. I greased the slideout channels with recommended lube before starting the trip. I always check and correct any obstructions prior to the movement of the slideout both inside and outside the trailer .

Today I will check underneath both the slideout channels and for anything (animal/rodent?) that might cause it to hangup on the way in or out.

I fear that one of these times it may decide not to retract at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don

If at all possible, find a Jayco dealer near where you are and have them check it out under warranty. Being you are on the road some will accommodate you quickly to get you on the road again. We have not had any problem with our slideout like that on our unit. Best of luck.

If it fails there is a way to manually crank it in. Check your owners manual.

What is the condition of your batteries? The slides are 12v and a weak battery will cause the slide to stop like that. We had a similar condition with our old Montana 5th wheel and a fresh set of batteries cured the problem for us. Ours would stop several times even when we were hooked to shore power.

When I had slide out problems away from home, I called my dealer who put me in touch with Jayco. They offered to have a mobile tech come out and repair it. They gave me the name of one and I called him. Jayco was going to authorize the repair and reimburse me.

We got the slide in and locked and decided to take it home to our home dealer, who already had the gearbox/motor on at the dealership when I arrived.

Good service all the way around IMO.
