Slow drain black tank

2017 Jayco Flight SLX 245

The black water tank drains very slowly as compared to the gray tank.
The gray gushes with nearly a full diameter pipe flow.
Black is a trickle....less than a water hose would put out.

After the black slows to dripping, the monitor light still shows 1/3rd full.
Whereas the gray shows empty. (4 red light indicator. Empty/1/3rd/2/3rds/full).

Never ever has a piece of tissue been placed in the tank and only once was a solid deposit made (3am emergency)

Drain valve handle seems to operate as would be expected and the same as the gray.

Is the tank empty and the monitor light is lying to me?
What would cause the very slow drain flow?

If it's a new trailer and you have legitimately never "done a big job" in the trailer then I wouldn't be surprised if there is construction debris in the tank or more likely the drain pipe. The debris is probably blocking something. As it's a new trailer, then back to the dealer.

Or the monitor is lying (ours has since we purchased our Alante). Have you tried the old trick of throwing a bag of ice down the toilet and driving around? Does your rig have a sanitizer?

Our black tank seldom empties with the same force as our gray. But what volume is going down each?

Did you try filling it with clean water and than dumping? Maybe you didn't have enough liquid in the tank and your 3am dump got stuck lol. Or something else got in the tank.

Actually......the "big job" was nothing to be proud of and certainly not within "trophy" status. More like what occurs at 3am and the camp toilets are beyond the "safe" distance.

I also suspect some obstruction in the piping or valve.

When the idiot lights show 2/3rds full for both gray and black tanks, one would think the drain flow would be similar.

I would fill the black with clean water and a cup of water softener until the toilet gurgles or you need to look down the toilet until you see it near full then empty it . The water softener help prevent clinging of unwanted substances.

It does sound like you may have some construction debris in there since it's a new trailer but you may want to buy a Camco Dual Flush Pro Valve and try that. You'll need one anyway to flush your tanks periodically. I just used mine for the first time today and it cleared up the sticky sensor on the black tank. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-39062-F...lush+pro+valve

I was going to recomend a similar attachment. It worked like a charm. I highly recommend this.

Is the "pull" on the black tank valve full? Can you verify the valve is completely open?

You might try snaking a water hose up to the black tank. Only if the lines are direct and no snags involved. Don't want to tear up the plumbing. But if there is a blockage of construction material you might be able to dislodge it back into the tank. Then hopefully snag it out with some kind of tongs or grabber.

Watch out that you don't go all the way into the tank and hit the sensors.
