SLX side AC roof vent problem solved

I have been replacing or covering all my 5 year old Dicor with Etearnabond. This morning I took off the cover to find 2 wasp nests. 1 under the cover and the other under the "screen" that is part of the cover.

This "screen" as shown in the picture below has 1/4 inch size holes in it and is only suitable to keep out leaves. Last few years we have opened the camper in the spring to find hundreds of Chinese beetles inside. After they came through the screen there are openings around the sidewall AC that let them migrate inside. Plus a few mosquitoes, etc. We just couldn't find the entry point till now.

I added a layer of aluminum screen wire held in place with aluminum tape and screws and put Etearnabond over the Dicor that was in good condition except for three holes where it did not cover the wood.

I used Etearnabond tape to cover the exterior screws instead of caulk to hold the plastic cover in place.

That's very interesting. I'm considering removing that roof vent to install fans up there. You've planted the thought to look for bees, and be ready for them. Thanks!
