Ok, to simple it down, everything on the 12 volt system, in other words everything that operates when you are not plugged in, runs off the batteries

When you plug in and the converter is at work, the batteries act as a buffer to help carry the load, the batteries on a modern converter will not be overcharged, the converter is regulated

Great Job wags999. That was the best I've read on RV voltage and thanks to RoyBraddy also. This information will be helpful to many of us.
