Smooth vs corrugated side

Anyone have any pro and cons on the type of sides on the camper, smooth vs corrugated. Look at a 174bh.

I've never owned a corrugated side trailer, but this topic did come up this past camping weekend with a couple we camp with all the time. A few sites away from where we were at we saw a guy washing his tt. My buddy commented on how he would NEVER own another corrugated sided trailer again. He said they are a real pain to clean and even harder to get the black streaks off. He did say that he's noticed their current smooth sided trailer dosent get the black streaks like the other one did. Corrugated sided ones easily dent too.

I have a corrugated an it's easy to clean. Depending on the wax I use its not as easy as waxing my truck but it's not bad. Weighed less than some of the fiberglass models I looked at so I can haul more in it. What also swayed my thinkin was that I don't have to worry about delamination.
It's all opinion. Like anything else they both have their pluses an minuses, advantages an disadvantages.

When we were looking to buy a new trailer the smooth side models cost more.

Depends if you're buying used or new. I prefer the look of a smooth side, but unless they use Azdel, run away from it. Any slight leak (and all trailers will leak eventually) will delaminate the panels and render your TT useless for resale. We had an x213, and a small hole in the roof member ruined the side panel. We decided to get a corrugated (stick and tin) trailer so we don't get into this situation again.
Time will tell how well Azdel will hold up, but it's not supposed to have the same issues.
I'm not sure if Jayco uses Azdel today? If not, it will be another reason from a long list that our next trailer won't be a Jayco.

Having both over the years, I prefer to clean my fiberglass TT over the aluminum sided unit.

Otherwise, I really do not have a preference.

My son-in-law has the Aluminum and not only does have to keep his eye on the roof but all (8) seams running down the trailer (2 each corner)plus all the windows, storage compartments & door. Checking every ridge ( like over 200) for the slightest opening For water to enter, well he hates it!
Well the first thing I did with my smooth sided trailer was Eturnabond the 8’ roof seam
( should be good for longer than I plan on owning the trailer and it’s now going on 11 years old. Check the other roof openings & around the smooth seam windows and other openings twice a year and I’m done. I’m water tight and ripple free.

I find it easy to clean my aluminum trailer, not sure why Lake Huron says they dent easy? I would think the delamination would also dent just as easily?
I feel the aluminum trailers hold up better and do not tear-up as easily as the delamination. That's just an opinion I have formed after reading thru this site and learning of the different situations when trying to repair delamination?
