So new that I don't even have my hoses yet...

Where do I get these? Amazon...Walmart...?

Is there a brand name that is better than others? How much should I figure on paying for all that I need?

I always get my water hoses at WalMart. They have a selection of drinking water hoses both in their RV supplies section and also in the garden department. The hose are listed as drinking water compatible. They have the Camco 25' hose for $9.97. That same hose is $8.99 online at the store who's owner says he doesn't need our money. And their prices are always higher in store than online and the only way they will match is if you have a print out of the online page. That and the owners arrogance are why I never shop there anymore. We all know who I'm talking about.

Well, I don't know who you're talking about but that is probably because I'm new...but I appreciate the tip on Walmart.

I full time and the best hose I have found is https://www.amazon.com/Camco-22853-P...004RNR9BY?th=1. It isn't as cheap as the ones you find on most shelves, but is a much better hose and the machined fittings don't bend and leak.

I have gotten my fresh water hoses from a few places including Amazon and Walmart. I buy a new one every season as they are cheap. Just make sure it’s rated safe for drinking water (even though we take bottled water and never drink the water).

For a sewer hose I have a RhinoFlex that I bought from Amazon. It’s good quality and in its fourth season and still in perfect shape.

I prefer the Rhino Flex sewer hose. I get most of my RV stuff on Amazon.

I get my stuff at both Amazon and Walmart. Walmart is equally priced and has a great selection. I have gotten fresh water hoses, as well a a nice Sewer Hose hookup there. Also keep in mind you may need an extension power cable (30 amp) if you have 30 amp service, as well as adapters. Mine include 30 amp to 120, and 50 amp to 30 amp.

Congratulations! So what did you purchase??

Depends on the hoses you want!

Drinking water hoses you can get almost anywhere. Just make sure they are rated for potable water. I carry two hoses; a 25' and a 10' hose. I'm off the grid most of the time so I use the 10' hose the most.

You may also want to consider a pressure regulator, as some CGs have very high water pressure, which is not good for our fragile plumbing. I also like a 90 degree brass elbow to use between the TT and the hose, to take the pressure off the plastic hose fitting on the TT. There is also lots of other gizmos you can get too.

Sewer hoses, there is a lot to choose from, Walmart, Amazon, and any RV store is a good place to find them. usually most TT's come with a cheap short one. Have you checked the bumper, to verify there is not one hidden in it??? I still only use the cheap one that came with the TT. I very rarely ever have a full hook up site so it is no big issue for me. Seams like most people like to upgrade to a Rhino 10' or longer hose.

I would start off with the basics and find you method of camping and then upgrade to what fits your style. Cost for the basics maybe $50 to $100.

Most important thing is to have a notebook and pen.

I switch between Walmart and Amazon, mostly based on price and how fast I need stuff. Also remember that if you order online at Walmart you can get free in-store pickup if the item you want is not on the shelf.

Nearest CW is 50 miles away from me, but I try to avoid them (*some* sale items can be worth it). Prices are too high and you usually have to pay for shipping. OTOH, Walmart is less than a mile from my house. And all 3 (Amazon, Walmart and CW) are as close as my computer keyboard.

You should get a starter kit from your dealer. If not, you will need at the very minimum:

1. A 25' drinking water safe hose. They are blue or white.

2. A 4 inch sewer hose usually 15' and adapters to connect to the 4 inch sewer hose and the adapter to connect to the campground sewer connection. ( You can order the whole set from amazon or any Walmart store has them.)

3. food, dishes, coffee pot, etc. Things you already have. Most people have duplicates eventually in the camper. It saves a lot of moving to and fro.

4. Bedding for sleeping, towels, toiletries.

Go camping somewhere locally and get familiar with the campers systems. Water, tv, sound, water heater, furnace, AC, gas and electrical ( ac and dc)

Enjoy your self.

What you don't have will be self evident and what you have but don't need to carry will also be clear.

You will learn a lot from talking and watching what others do. Also this forum is a gold mine of information. Some of it may actually be helpful. You decide!

+1 This is my primary drinking water hose, absolutely worth every penny. Mine is 50', which is WAY too long most of the time, so some time soon I will get a shorter one for times when the longer one isn't needed (I have used every inch of that 50' and even attached my backup a couple times). I also have a white Camco as a back up. I also carry new hose ends and gaskets in my hose box. Pressure regulator is a must. I was in a park not so long ago that had 95 PSI at the tap. That's enough to bust a fitting.

I also carry a 3/4" general purpose garden hose for my black tank flush and other chores around camp (like putting out fires or washing the bugs out of my radiator) as well as a "Y" connection for the tap so I can run both hoses at once if I need to. I also carry a garden hose adapter for my waste tank outlet, so I can run gray water through my garden hose if I have to go a long distance for some reason.

For the sewer hose, I run the Camco Revolution and have been happy so far. I purchased the end caps for it too, so it stores nicely in my bumper. When the time comes, I will replace it with a RhinoFLEX. I carry 2 10' sections and all the ends/adapters I could possibly need.

Got all my stuff at Amazon. I use RhinoFlex 20' kit for sewage. I did by a clear 45° from my dealer. Also using a Camco fresh water hose. I screw on a Y at the spigot and keep an additional 25' water hose with a spray nozzle hooked up.

Yeah got a couple Camco's from Walmart to, one hose they forgot to crimp the ends.
Installed direct new couplers on them, instead of spending 10 dollars on gas to return the hose. They are not the best hoses as they expand to about a 1" hose under 50 PSI.
But for the price we can't complain.

For sure get the Blue water hose, the white has very thing fittings and after a while they will leak. I also use a Y at the water hook up so I can attach my black tank hose also. For sure use a water pressure regulator I was at two campgrounds this summer where the pressure was 130 to 140 lbs...way too much for your system to handle safely. Also be sure to keep your black tank closed....dumping it when full or when your leaving and if at all possible use your black tank flush each time you dump.

I would add an in line water filter to the above. I also carry a separate black tank hose.

Also - safety items -

Someone mentioned the pressure regulator to save your trailer pipes from high water pressure.

You also will want a surge protector (30A or 50A to match your trailer) to save your trailer electronics from bad power poles and power spikes. Campground power can be very unpredictable at times...
