Have a Jayfeather 166FBS with 190watt solar panel. Factory installed. Can it charge a 100AH battery. Or does the battery type matter. Thanks Qinman58 from Detroit.

Yep

Yes, a solar panel can generally charge any type or size of battery, but you will only get rated panel output under ideal conditions.. The charge controller output voltage should match the battery chemistry type, most have settings.

"A 100 watt panel produces an average of about 6 amps per peak sun hour, or about 30 amp-hours per day."

A lead-acid battery should not be discharged below 50%, so you have 50AH useable with a 100AH battery. A 180 watt panel would be a close match for a 100AH lead-acid battery. Cloudy / rainy days, low sun angle all can cut your panel output drastically.

Yes.

The GoPower solar charge controller can be set for the type of battery you have. Press and hold the "Battery Type" button for a few seconds, then select the type of battery you have. I had to change mine as it came set to AGM but the dealer put in flooded (wet) batteries.

Be aware if you are changing to Lithium, the charger/converter (for shore power) stock on these trailers does not support Lithium. Most upgrade to the Progressive Dynamics charger/converters.
