Solar Ready - 2016 27RLS

Owners Manual says "2 capped wires in the area of the battery, to be connected to battery and connect solar charger".
I have found 2 capped wires (1 black, 1 red). These are connected to each other and run power to the power jack and light.
The 2 wires that come off the back of the solar plug follow the wiring harness and disappear into the trailer.
Does anyone know if these are already connected? Or do I need to trace them inside and connect to battery?

Welcome and good question. The black wire on my solar plug isn't connected to anything. The red wire from the solar plug goes back down the frame but I haven't traced it to see where exactly. I don't plan to use it but would like to know as well.

Are you talking about a roof solar block connection? Or a small 12v plug in on the side of the trailer (mine is on the utilities connection panel)? The North Points have both. Not sure what yours has.....

Mine is located on the A frame beside the power jack. 2 prong plug for a solar panel.

Test the connector. It's likely already "12v hot". If so, it's designed to take a low amp 12v input from a panel that has a "built in" converter, similar to the battery charging panel available at Harbor Freight, Northern Tool, or many other suppliers. Not for heavy duty solar-provided electric, but great for day to day maintenance of the parasite loads, without having to plug into 120v.
