I attribute that to wand’s head produces more of a stream and, even though you can’t see, you can directly aim into the various areas of the tank, achieving better results. Tank rinsers are fixed and create a spray similar to a bathroom shower head. I don’t think they reach all areas of the tank either.

That is true if you don't get the wand with the spinner head. If you know where the sensors are, you can direct the stream right at them. JUST BE CAREFUL TO KEEP THE SPRAY HEAD BELOW THE TOILET OUTLET or you will get deflected spray in the face. Don't ask how I know.

A trip to Taco Bell usually fixes any black tank issues we encounter.

I’ve had to use a couple small wrenches and a long screwdriver and get very hands on with the Flo-Jet macerator pump a few times. The girls (3 of them) hair would eventually get so twisted up in the blades over time that the pump wouldn’t run well. My poor screwdriver hasn’t had the best life.

The long hair problem (from the DW, mine, not so much!) was pretty much eliminated after we bought these.

http://https://www.rvautoparts.com/42273-Camco-Waste-Water-Drain-Strainer-Includes-Strainers-For-RV-Sink_p_10085.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi7bHoIyl6wIVD4 3ICh09pgG1EAQYBiABEgJDLPD_BwE

I also drilled three more holes in the wand tip, opposite each other. It sprays in all 4 directions at once, and I don't have to twist it so much when rinsing.

Ordered, I should have done that a long time ago
You’d think a Wookie had crawled up inside my macerator pump and died when I opened the case up.

I'm pretty sure everybody that's used a wand has gotten sprayed, especially the first time. I belong to that club myself. It's really quite a surprise!

First off make sure after every flush everyone using your bathroom knows how to fill the bowl back up with water. I’m always on my wife and daughter about this. You need at least 5” of water in the bowl. 2nd, if your in one place for more than 3 days, I always fill black tank 2/3 full on 3rd-4th day with water via the black tank flush connection and dump, refill, dump, refill until I see no solids at all. Be “anal” about it!

I use a Valterra Flush King reverse valve setup for cleaning my tanks. It takes me about 20 minutes to do the whole tank clean out procedure but we’ve not had any smells in the almost 3 years we’ve owned our camper.

I hook it all up, empty the black, close the flush king and back fill 10 gallons of water, dump, 10 more gallons, dump, and repeat until clean. For the gray side, I’ll dump and backfill 10 gallons, dump and done. I have a couple water usage indicator thingy between the house and the Flush king so I know how much water I’m back filling.

Highly recommend the flush king.

Poop not moving.

I learned the same way as you are. After clearing the poop, and emptied the black tank.
Now, I always add 5 gallons of water to the black tank and a cap of Downey fabric softener.
I’ve never had a problem since.
To clear the black tank, I made a wand from PVC, to break up the poo. I only had to use the wand once.

It doesn't sound to me like you're dealing with a problem of a poop Pile in your tank. this sounds more like you just need to add more water when you go to flush. When my tank gets full it's probably three-quarters full of water when I go to dump it. There is a position on the flush pedal of all RV toilets, that will allow it to fill up with more water without dumping it into the tank. Every time we go poopy we add extra water with it before we fully flush it down. This creates almost a vacuum action when you flush. This should take care of your problem. That is how these are actually designed to work, but most people don't know how to do it correctly. The rule of thumb is to always put a lot of extra water down into your tank which makes emptying the tank much quicker and more efficient. Hope this helps.
