Some running lights not working

2021 Jayco 284BHS

https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/a...1&d=1629159195

Left tail light and the top left 3 running lights don’t come on. Left Turn signal, brake light, backup light, etc works fine…just issues with the running lights.

Any thoughts on what to check? I have a rear camera hooked up. That’s how I noticed it…the camera stopped working. Tried removing the camera… reset all fuses… no help.

Sounds like a wiring issue. Did you check the wires connected to the camera, making sure they are securely connected? I believe the lights work off the taillight hot wire. Do you have power coming from the plug to the lights?

I'd remove the left tail light and check the connection. Clearance lights maybe daisy chained from there.

That's a very strange configuration of lights that are out. I agree with both Dennis and Grumpy. A 12 volt test light's in order (or digital VOM) to test for power, and also check any ScotchLoks you run across, along with the ground connections. It's too new to have a corrosion issue.

Thanks all. I will investigate further. On my way out, I did notice some condensation in the tail light. How does the lense come off. I didn’t see any screws or notches to pop it off.

It might be a sealed LED lamp, and not able to be opened up.

Odds are you have a loose connection. Or the edge of a hole has sawed through the wire.

I hate those scotchlocks and when I replaced my bulb marker lights with LED lights I used heat shrink butt connectors that have low temperature (heat gun) solder inside. Once and done. See through them and you know when a good solder joint is made. And shrink tube at the same time! I got a 150 piece box on Amazon for $12 which was enough for my trailer and son in laws pop up complete running light and tail light replacements with a bunch left over.

The wire you're looking for is probably brown. Somewhere along the line it probably splits between the right and left side, I'm thinking that's where your problem is. The marker lights must be hooked into the left side...good luck!
