Sounds system for 2005 27BH
We purchased our Jayco Jay Flight last year and have been very happy with it. The unit is wired for surround sound but the radio/receiver was missing. Any ideas on where we can find a replacement that will fit in our cabinet and/or what we should be looking for? We've been to Best Buy and a couple of other places but can't find anything that will power all the speakers and fit in the slot. Thanks!

I don't know if yours connects in to the tv or not...We have recently had to replace our unit. However, ours is also connected to the tv and plays cd/dvd. Here is where my husband purchased ours

We have a 08 jay flight G2 29bhs and this is the exact unit that came with ours.

Any RV dealer will carry it. However better quality at a lesser price can be had from buying a car stereo unit and putting that in. You can do it or any competent auto installer can do it.

Jenni, we have the same tt as you. Yours is 2 yrs older.... just curious, what happened with your sound system? How much use did it have when it went out on you? Did it quit after the warranty expired? Is there anything we should pay particular attention to? Thankx

We had problems with the Dvd player. It would say "loading" for 15 plus minutes. First started with some DVds and then expanded (didn't matter if was orginal or back up copy). All the other functions seemed to work well, but with two small children and areas that didn't get good tv reception we really us the Dvd player. I have a portable i can hook up but that is a pain.
Ours was under warranty but it took the dealer over a week to "test it". Then they said they couldn't get another one, that Jayco wasn't using that unit anymore. So they gave my husband the ok to purchase one on our own and that they would reemburse him for it. Ordered it via internet and then the next week dealer called and said that Jayco did have the unit and they would send it out to the dealer. It still took about another 3 weeks before we got it, but the other unit had been already install (by hubby) and used atleast twice. So now we have an extra one at home on the self for if it fails again
A few things i make sure i do different with this one that i didn't pay attention to with orginal is: I always remove dvd from tray before traveling and i do hit the main (grey) power button off before traveling. I didn't do this with orginal, don't know if it makes difference or not....

We have only used our radio. During our 'walk through', the dealer put in a dvd and it worked, but we haven't tried it since. That or the mp3 player plug in. I will try all those out when we take the tt out once again. Also, if we do use the dvd player, we will make sure to remove the dvd right away so we don't forget. Thanks for the info Jenni!!!

Jenni, thank you so much for posting that link. We have the same exact TT. My stereo unit is going out too and at least i know where to buy the replacement. It is a lot less than what i was afraid it was going to be...
One think i am not to thrilled about this particular TT is that it doesnt have room for a bigger TV than a 19'' one. Unfortunately, most 19'' TV's have such a poor viewing angle...

I'm not sure if your space is the same as our's, but we found a slim unit at Best Buy (their Dynex brand) that fit in the small area. We had to buy the speakers and all, but it was only $129 for everything. We then upgraded to a 22" (Dynex) LCD TV. We've been very pleased with it all.
