Squeaky Axle...

Our TT (24MBH) has only been out twice---brand new in June 2017. When we are turning and towing, it is squeaky and noisy. The axles etc. are rusty. My husband says this is all perfectly normal and not to worry. Do other people experience this? Curious if this is considered normal or if it's something we should look into sooner rather than later?

Thank you!

If you have a equalizer type hitch did you lube the ball and the equalizer bars before setting out on your trip?

To clarify, he says it's the "leaf springs" that are rusty. He plans to apply an undercoat to inhibit rusting. The noise is coming from there as well as the hitch--yes e have equalizer bars and sway control. We are planning to have the dealer look at it. We have not lubes the ball and bars. Would you mind providing some suggestions on this step?

My first trailer had squeaky leaf springs, and I was always spraying them with lubricant to quiet them down. It worked for a bit, then I'd have to spray them again. Seemed to just be the nature of that trailer. My current trailer tows virtually silently.

you lube the bars where they attach to the hitch, just spread a little general purpose grease on the ball before you attach the trailer.

I put a shot of grease on the ball and I have rubber pieces that goes on the L brackets where the anti sway bars attach. Most RV shops carry them
Here is a link to them
