Stabilizer Problem (New Jayco Owner)

As of last weekend I am a new Jayco owner. We purchased a new White Hawk 32KBS. We still setting up the trailer but like it so far. I don't guess we will be going anywhere until this virus blows over.

One problem so far is that my front electric stabilizers will go down but not up. The rear stabilizers will go up or down. I plan to call the dealer but thought I would ask here since I am posting. Does anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State! Congratulations on the new White Hawk!

About your stab jack issue, I would look for a bad wire connection either at the motor, or switch. If you don't find something there, it might be a bad switch, or the motor itself, which in your case would be a warranty repair.

A digital VOM will tell you if you have continuity in the wiring, and voltage to the switch and motor.

Congratulations on the new TT.

I would start at the wire connections at the switch. A multimeter can be very helpful. You may have a bad connection, at the motor or switch. Could be a bad switch. I doubt a bad motor, as it spins one way. You could pull the switch, I suspect there are three wires. One in the center is "hot" from the fuse box. The other two send the power to the motor. Surprisingly the wire on the top, will make it the legs extend (go down), and the wire on the bottom will make the legs retract (internals of the switch is like a teetertoter).

My suspicion is a bad wire connector.

Welcome from Southern NY State. Tennessee is definately on my short list of places to move to when I can escape the lunacy of the northeast! I concur with your issue being likely switch related. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I checked what I could without tearing anything a part. I decided just to operate the stabilizers manually until the end of season then take it to the dealer. We took the trailer out this past weekend on its first trip. The stabilizers worked as they should. Must have jarred a loose connection or something. Even worked great when we returned home. I am sure we will see this again.

Thanks for all your welcomes and replies.
