Step lights

I have a 2018 32bhts. In the well that the steps retract into, there is a yellow light that is attached to the frame. It looks like it would provide soft light for the steps at night but I can’t find a switch to turn it on anywhere. Does anyone know about this? Please help.

On our last two units that light was controlled by the awning light switch. IMHO a dumb setup as if the awning light is on you really don’t need the step light.

I tried that with no luck. I guess it’s possible that’s how it is supposed to work and never got hooked up properly. Thanks

It’s the awning switch on ours as well. Maybe the bulb is burned out? I agree with Rob, I wish they were two separate switches.

ours is linked to the awning light switch as well. When we got the trailer new, there was no bulb in the fixture. Agree with others that it is odd to have it linked to the awning lights. Might check to see if it has a bulb on your trailer

Mine is on the awning light switch as well (x213).

When I noticed it wasn't on when the awning lights were, I crawled under the trailer and found the bolt holding the ground wire had rusted off. After replacing that, it worked fine.

Like others, on both my previous trailer and my current one, the step light and the awning light are controlled by the same switch.
I have heard of others who seperated the step light wiring from the awning light switch and installed a new dedicated switch for just the step. Something I am considering.
