Stolen television :(

Went to check on my tt on the weekend..only to find the television stolen!! The culprit gained entry through the bedroom door as it was stuck open (I was able to close and lock eventually), but I am out the TV. Rookie mistake I guess leaving it in there for the winter, not one I’ll make again. A few questions:

- Are the stock (22” RCA I think) TV’s just a ‘normal’ tv? I.e. not a television unique to RV’s
- How does it mount inside (I can’t remember) – does it just sit in the cabinet or is it bolted down somehow?

Any advice/thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I will have to start looking for a replacement. Thanks,

Steve

MIne is just a standard RCA Tv mounted on a stand up mount with six screws in the base. I would suppose they are all mounted differently depending on the location of your tv. That is a real sob that would steal a fellow's tv right out of his camper. My camper is out in my back yard. We live on two acres surrounded by woods. Someone came in around noon time one day and lifted my brand new John Deer zero turn mower. Now I have 4 security cameras surrounding the place so come on back sucker!

Yup, any regular TV will work. Ours can be mounted to a post so we can swivel it from side to side. It also came with a regular base but the post makes it easier to swivel and we don't scratch the top of the cabinet it sits on.

Funny part I hardly doubt any would break into mine for TV being I've got 2 old school TV's 13" CRT tubed color and a portable 6" Black & White...

You couldn't give them away... :hihi:

But since neither one of us watch TV around here (haven't in over 3 years) we get our news and information from the good ol world wide web...

But those old sets are good for a DVD movie now and then...

Sorry to hear about your robbery. Our TT didn't come with a television so we ended up getting one at Costco. We bought a Vizio 23" Razor LCD LED 1080p. We liked this one because the power cord is seperate and you can us in a AC and 12V. Perfect for the TT. Another reason we liked the fact the TV is made in the USA.

I bought a tv for the kids bunkhouse from Target. It was an off the shelf purchase, nothing special about it in order for it to work in a TT. Now that you unfortunately need a new tv take the oppertunity and see if you can go bigger.

Thanks for all the replies. Our trailer is a 25RKS so there is limited room for a bigger TV, but I will definitely explore the option. Perhaps mount it on a wall somewhere, with a swivil. Not sure how hard this would be to find a stud, etc...

I'm actually more relieved that no vandalism was done.

Wall mounting may be challenging. A friend told me that if I were to call Jayco they would send me a layout of where the studs are.

On my TT the tv swivels to allow you to see it in either the living room or the bedroom. It is a 22" one. Another camper with the same TT installed a 32" one by modifyng the entertainment center. Since the larger tv would not allow the swivel he simplied installed the 22" tv in the bedroom on the back side of the entertainment center.
