Storing TT with scissor jacks down
I’ve parked my 19’ Jayco trailer in driveway. Scissor jacks down resting on plastic yellow levellers. Do I need to do anything else to take pressure off the tires? Should I crank the scissor jacks a little more so the weight of trailer is on jacks?

Most don't leave the jacks down in case a tire loses air it will bend the jack. No reason to leave than down.

I leave mine down so the trailer wobbles less when I walk around inside.

Jack's down when you are using the trailer but jacks up when you are storing it.

That said, I just checked the tire pressure the other day and added air to all four to get them back to full. We've been living in the camper for a while during remodel.

I would not have believed how much damage this could do if I had not seen it myself. A TT in my storage yard had his scissor jacks down for the winter. One of his tires on a dual axel unit went flat which resulted in a scissor jack failing. When the jack failed it placed pressure on the remaining tire on that side, it blew and the second scissor jack failed. This continued until all four tires were blown and all four jacks destroyed. I never did meet the owner but they certainly have my sympathy.

As others have said, leaving the jacks down during storage is of no benefit what so ever and the longer it’s stored the more likely a tire will deflate. The sizzor jack is not designed for the full weight of the trailer.

Just think if a short to the "weather" switch caused the jack to fully extend? I would and always will disconnect the battery and either use a float charger (battery tender) or remove the battery and store it in the garage/basement.

Also, leaving jacks down in storage adds another 4 off-ramps from the ground for mice

Saw a TT at the storage lot apparently getting 4 new tires. The stabilizers were used to lift the unit and tires were removed. When I saw it the 4 stabs were supporting the trailer and they were “mis-shaped”. I agree they are not intended to support the entire weight.

I have always stored mine with the jacks up. When stored I'm not concerned with rocking when I need to be in it and as mentioned it's four less on/off ramps for creatures of various kinds.

I store mine with the TPMS left on the valve stems. Every so often, I turn on the monitor in my house and check the pressures. If below 60 lbs, I go out and refill the tire.
I also keep the jacks up. Like Rustic Eagle said. 4 less paths for mice to get in.
