Storm damage

I have a 2015 Jay Flight 24FBS that we have only had out 3 times since we purchased it. Yesterday afternoon we had thunderstorms and tornados move through our area and I now have hail damage to the rear and slide out side of our unit. Has anyone had experience with a travel trailer after having the siding replaced.

As long as your repair dealer is competent you should have no problems.

before you contact your insurance company I would decide how bad it is. Since it is only cosmetic you should consider the possibility of your rates increasing with a claim.

I would ask your insurance company "indirectly" by asking a What-if question does a claim increase your rates. Many insurance companies even if they do not pay a claim if they know there has been damage will still raise rates.

Comp claims don't typically cause increases..its the collision that gets you. (Normally auto claims only) And RVs have so few claims they normally don't cause any rate increase no matter the cause. I had the foot on my outboard motor replaced twice in three years with insurance. Never saw any increase.
But anything is possible.

exactly.

Canadian companies will. Another thing they will do here is cancel your coverage if you have multiple claims.

Say you get the damage fixed and it happens again the insurance company here may say too bad.

It may be entirely different with the Op's company but before I fixed some dents I would make sure it was worth it.

It is no big deal to get it repaired, I have heard it is a lot of work. You will be surprised, as they will strip the siding all the way off and you will see the studded wall framing and insulation. I saw a TT at the dealership last winter, in their glassed in PDI bay having all new siding installed. I wish I had a smartphone as I would have taken a number of pictures.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not to worried about my rates going up I have had coverage with the same company sense age 16 and now 62. I mainly worry about leaks after having the siding replaced on a new camper. My dealer wants to keep it for at least 4 days just to do the inspection for a estimate, They say that they want to make sure that all damage is found.

We had hail damage to the slide, every panel on that left side and every panel on the rear. Insurance company totaled the TT. The damage was only cosmetic, we consulted with the dealer and all was good so we just bought it back out of the settlement money and lived with the damage. No increase in premiums, no water leakage what so ever.
