Surge Protector

Hello Everyone. Quick question. Do you all use a surge protector when plugging into a generator? Thanks.

I use mine every time, just in case there is a problem with the voltage regulator on the generator. It requires a "Bonding Plug" on the generator. Mine is a Predator 3500 watt Inverter, connected to a Progressive PT-50X.

I agree with Route 66 - I have the same generator that has been rock solid for me for 3 years and still will not bypass my electrical management system. I made a simple bonding plug as well...

I also have a Harbor Freight Predator 3500 inverter we've had for almost 3 years but have never used a surge protector with it. I'm not saying I shouldn't, just saying I haven't.

Forgot to mention I always use it when plugged into my house RV outlet as well. During the monsoon season I unplug everything when lightening is in the vicinity.
