Surge protector/ plug in covers

Although we haven't taken our inaugural trip in the new travel trailer I was wondering about covers for the electric hookup. I purchased a surge protector and got to thinking that I may need a cover from the rain at certain campsites. Any recommendations? Thx!

Don't know how it could hurt! Do not get much rain in Phoenix not a big concern here!

A plastic bag and some twist-ties work pretty well...

I keep some handy in the "electrical stuff" stash to protect the protector :-) and to do the same for any extension cords that may be outside for temporary lights, etc.

Perhaps not as elegant as a purpose made cover... but a lot cheaper!

I stretch a piece of electrical tape over the sides and top of the connection between the plug and surge protector. When breaking camp I just stick the tape on the side of the surge protector and reuse it at the next stop.

We carry two pails that are used to cover the tongue jack. When I use shore power and take one of the pails and place it over the shore power box. If that won't work, I just take a plastic garbage bag and secure with the bungee cord.

We use a plastic bag and a bungee chord. All is good and disposable. Happy Trails.

I would go with an EMS (electrical management system) vs just a surge protector. EMS will also protect against both low AND high voltage fluctuations which can damage the circuitry in the appliances.

The portable Progressive EMS have built it covers.

+1, or do a hard wire in line EMS.

Electrical tape where needed has my vote
