Surge protector protection

I just got delivery of a new surge protector. It does just about any kind of electrical line testing and at several hundred dollars it wasn't cheap. Those of you that have them, do you somehow lock them or secure them so they don't disappear at night or while you're away from the camp site?

First of all, welcome to the Forum. I lock my portable Progressive Industries EMS to the pedestal with a 1/8'' coated cable and lock. A lot of members don't lock theirs down and have never had a problem but you never know. Also available are hard wired units which a lot of members have as well.

Hi Stan! We find most pedestals have a flip-down door with a hole in it. We use a beefy padlock to secure it. For those that don’t have that, I have a strong chain that I put through the shackle on the EMS and then wrap around the pedestal and padlock it. Actually, I’ve always felt pretty comfortable in parks and campgrounds, but don’t take any chances. BTW, how did your Tucson trip go?

Hi Greg- The trip to Tucson was nice, bought a home in the area for cool weather living that should be done in January so we can travel during the heat of the summer. Had a bit of trouble with our water heater that only works sometimes so I have an appointment to have it looked at. My Toyota Tundra just didn't have enough oomph to get up the hills anywhere near the speed limit so I went out and got a Ram 2500. That'll do!

Congrats on the new rig! That will definitely do the job with your TT. For that summer travel, I would definitely recommend a trip over to Yellowstone. We had a blast. I can give you a great RV park on the way if you want to PM me.
