Swift Dry Lock leak prevention system ?

Hi To All

We got a 2012 Jay Flight Swift 154BH, Jayco's web site says that it has Swift Dry Lock leak prevention system.

I called and ask them what the Swift Dry Lock leak prevention system is, and they said that they had no idea what it is, I was told that they would try to find out and call me back, 5 weeks later a they have not called me back.

Does anyone know what Swift Dry Lock leak prevention system is? May be just a sound's good sales pitch!

Good question. I see it referenced on a couple different Jayco models, but not all of them......, has something to do with the exterior of the trailer.

In my opinion, it never truly existed. In Jayco's 2012 model website there isn't reference to it anywhere, disappeared, now you see it-now you don't...., all gone!

I just got a reply from Jayco on the Swift Dry Lock system.

"Mr. Noel, thanks for your recent note, which has been forwarded to me for reply. Please accept my apologies for the delayed response.

The term Swift Dry Lock Leak Prevention System originally was used in the 2012 Jay Flight Swift product literature first published last July; hence the reference to "Swift". When we updated our website about two months later with 2012 model year product information, the term was listed under Standard Exterior Equipment for all Jay Feather and Jay Flight travel trailers. We have since removed it from the website because, as indicated by your inquiry, it begs for a definition.

What it was intended to refer to is a number of unique items that we use to discourage rainwater from finding its way into the trailer. Some examples are extra-wide and pre-bent corner moldings, extended-length gutter spouts, clamp-ring windows with automotive gasket-style seals, leak-proof hinges on entrance doors, and a tent channel-lock system on the so-called hybrid travel trailers. Since these are all standard items, it would have made more sense to list them individually rather than trying to come up with a clever "package" name. Sometimes we unintentionally complicate things.

Seems like it was marketing on an already good idea that went wrong. I do like it when a company actually admits something and corrects it.

The answer may have been slow but it did come.

Well, don't know if I would consider the standard items identified in the statement to be "unique", but I guess that's a moot point......., mystery solved!

It sure sounded good...lol....and in reality - who would not want a dry lock system
