Anyone using T Mobile for cell service and using your phone as a hotspot? How well does it work? Thanks for any info.

I tried T-Mobile a few years ago for data service but gave up. They just don't have the coverage that Verizon has. You'll pay a lot more for Verizon but you get what you pay for in this case.

I can't speak to T Mobil as I have AT&T. However I use my phone as a hot spot all the time. It works great. So I would say if you have good network coverage on the phone you will have good luck using the phone as a hot spot.

I have T-Mobile with free global data plan. As an airline pilot, it's a life saver. The reception for phone calls is not as good as some others (mostly Verizon), but the 4G LTE has increased significantly in both strength and overall coverage in the past 2 or 3 years. I noticed the call signal reception issues in elevators. My calls drop and VZW or ATT stay connected.

But, like any cell company, the wide-open middle of the country or remote areas are difficult to gain a signal.

After over 15 years with Verizon I was tired of paying fees and high rates, having my unlimited data taken away, and WAY overcharging for international data/calls that I gave up and went over to T-Mobile. 3.5 years in and I've only used it in several different countries and only have had a handful of cell signal issues when others had strong signals. If it works well in Honduras... it should work in America!

Good luck.

I have had T-Mobile for 5+ years now.. just upgraded to their North American plan the phone now works in the US, Canada, and Mexico all for the same price and I call to/from all 3 countries no extra charge.. I use the phone also for data with mostly good results..

I've been with T-Mobile since they were voicestream. The coverage and 4G service works for me MOST of the time, but they don't have the coverage some of the others do. I've been with them so long that the plans we have are grandfathered in and my bill would go up 4x if I were to switch carriers. Their customer service is excellent and US based. Usually I talk to someone in Boise.

I use my phone as a hotspot all the time especially when driving so my daughter can use her tablet. It works fine. At one point she was blowing through the data and we were getting throttled from high speed. I contacted customer service and they blocked my account from getting throttled and removed the high speed cap for me, but like I said I've stuck with them for nearly 20 years so I'm sure that had something to do with it.
