Tanks - advertised specs vs. actual

I had emailed Jayco more than a year ago advising them that the specs listed on their website for the 2017 SLX 174bh were incorrect for the black and gray water tanks. As advertised, they list the gray and black tanks both at 19.9 gallons. In previous years, the capacities were advertised as 15 gallon gray and 9 gallon black, and upon emailing Jayco, I was advised that this is still the case for the 2017 model year.

Now, to even confuse matters further, I crawled under my trailer to inspect it prior to winterization and storage and noticed that my gray tank is stamped with a 19 gallon capacity and the black tank states 12 gallons.

Does Jayco just throw whatever tank size they have on hand that fits and meets or exceeds their posted numbers? I am thankful for the extra capacity, however, as it has allowed our family of 3 to manage 4 or 5 days of dry camping comfortably.

I don't think the specs on their marketing materials keeps pace with manufacturing. Still a fairly unsophisticated industry.
