telescoping ladder
Howdy all,
We have the Jay Feather Ultralite 197. It does not have a built in ladder. I was thinking of getting a telescoping ladder to access the roof. I've read online reviews both pro and con. Has anyone tried one? If so, do you have a recommendation for length and brand?

LOVE IT!!! 
I've had one "forever" at least 14 years. Fortunately I got mine at SAMS before they became popular and it was under $100.00. It is only a 12' which is all I need and I would not leave home without it. Fits nicely under the bed in the PINNACLE.

I have the Extend and climb 780P from Amazon. Used it a couple times and it works great, and doesn't take up much room. when UPS delivered it, the packaging looked like it had been dragged behind the truck to here. But, no damage to the ladder inside. It was packed in that cheap chinese cardboard.

I have a 12.5' one that I carry since I don't have a roof ladder either. I purchased it on Amazon for ~$150. There were others that were less, but mine is rated for 300lbs and I'm a pretty big guy (250) so I wanted the rating. It works as advertised. I use it each trip to sweep off my slide.

X2 on the Xtend and Climb 12.5'... mine is rated for 225 lbs and I've used it a lot to clean the roof or when I need to get up there and do some modification work. It collapses down to about two feet and weighs around 25 lbs. Easy to store too.

I seem to recall it was rated for 325lbs.
At the end of every trip (26) on our old trailer, which didn't have a slide awning, I used it to climb up high enough to sweep off the slide because I didn't want the twigs/leaves/bugs/pollen/etc on the roof when we closed it.
It served its role well, still works great and looks barely used. Our new trailer (pick up tomorrow morning, woo-hoo!) has both a slide awning and a ladder, so it'll likely be unnecessary going forward.
