There is almost zero in Lubbock for camping. Mind you Palo Duro, but the problem is the drive for, well, most of Texas. I come by there a few times a year...its a haul.

Something central would make it easier for quire a more folks, since Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin are within 2-3 hours of like Lake Limestone.

I don't care, I'll drive if the park is cool, but just recognize that many might take off Friday/Monday, then drive. And an 8-10 hour haul for 2 nights is quite a bit for just a get together.

But hell, if its a park in East Texas Piney woods, I would drive since I ain't been there yet.

We are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Hitting several Texas State Parks this year since we bought the annual pass. Dinosaur Valley, Lake Tawakoni, Lake Ray Roberts and if we are lucky, Garner State Park.

We like Isle du Bois Unit a little more than Johnson Branch. It tends to be a little busier, but more trees, a little more seclusion. Yes great lake.
