The 2016s

Got the trailer home late tonight. Packing early tomorrow morning and heading out for 4 days in Bend, OR. Here's a few outside shots, I will post interior pics tomorrow. Surprisingly I found very little wrong with the trailer. Really just cosmetic things here and there. Hopefully nothing major pops up during our first trip.

Just heard from our dealer that ours is expected "in late July." This is a disappointment because there's a trip we'll have to miss if we don't have the trailer in time. (Health issues will probably preclude taking the pop-up.) Not the worst news in the world, but we're still hoping for miracles re the health issues and the trailer delivery.

2016 bhbe

Hi All, I'm new here, Just got word that our 2016BHBE arrived at the dealers so I popped down for a quick look before they take it in shop for final inspections.
We had a lot of arguments during the purchase on a 2015 model so in the end we got one ordered to spec, they did not tell us that the coffee scheme was gone, but the new style is nice, and with the upgrades (elite package, wooden floors, remote control for lights, awning and slide out) we are very impressed. all I need now is a decent towing vehicle.

Wow looks great! although I thought Coffee was still there for 2016 as a matter of fact I thought that was the color in your pics above if not what is it? I know platinum and Fawn are gone and have been replaced with shadow and Mineral. What does the remote do is this a standard feature now? this is the same model and year and color I am interested in!

We ordered the same model! Can't wait to get it. FYI, coffee is still available. If they special ordered your trailer, I would make a deal on not getting what you requested... **edited to add that it looks like you got coffee** what did they say about the palette when you picked it up?

Either way, looks great and congrats!!

Agreed - it does look like Coffee.

The remote is part of the Elite package. It's for the slide, awning, awning light and electric stab jacks.

Our X254 was supposed to be completed on Friday. Just got word that it is but...they are waiting on decals. Dealer says hopefully they come in on Wednesday and they can start the process of shipping it out to our local dealership.... The wait is killing me!

I've been following this post and don't think this has been shared yet but I apologize if it has and I missed it.

Just got the brochure for the 2016 Jay Flight series travel trailers. Includes standards and options: DropBox Link.

The 2016s

So I am happy to report that I found no major issues with my trailer over our 4 day trip. Quite a few little cosmetic things that I fixed easily. The only two glaring problems that need to be resolved are:

1) On the entry side the wheel well was installed 3" off center from the wheels, it looks pretty bad.

2) The left awning vertical bar only has 1 lag screw in it. The other has 4. I will fix that one myself.

Also the 13btu air conditioner takes about 2hrs to cool the trailer down in 93 degree temps.

Just askin', but, is that because the A/C might be a little under-sized? Do they offer a larger unit as an option?

I am not sure if it's undersized. They do offer a 15btu option however I didn't think it was necessary as my last trailer was the same size and the 13btu air conditioner worked just fine. I don't like that Jayco only puts a roof vent in the bathroom. Without the other vents there isn't a good way to circulate air through the trailer. That may be part of why my other trailer cooled faster.

We are also on hold. Off-line but not ready to ship. Interestingly, when I called Jayco a month ago they gave me a date of being off line on June 8, but cautioned that it might not be ready to ship if it has to wait for parts. They must have known then that their supplies were not on schedule. We leave for a trip next week, and I figure we might as well just put the wear and tear on the old RV. If only we didn't have Blowmax tires on it.
