I carry a 8 ton Hydraulic jack and a star lug wrench. I also always carry a torque wrench in the truck. I am sure that a 2 ton jack would be fine this is just what I had in the shop.

I saw at Walmart they had, I think, 3 ton and 6 ton hydraulic jacks. I think I'll try one of those. Thanks

John

ETA actually what I'm thinking of is a bottle jack. Would that work?

Yep, I keep a 2-ton jack and star lug wrench in the TT storage area.

There are other options for dual axles like driving one tire onto a couple of pieces of wood, or purchasing a device that accomplishes the same......., but not all TT's react the same way with this method.

I have a 6 ton floor jack, proper sockets and break over handle, and torque wrench. I'm lazy and the floor jack has a removable handle and is much easier to position under the shackle than crawling under there with a bottle jack.

I've got one of the little ramps for changing a tire on a tandem axle. Hopefully I never have to use it!

I prefer to have tire changing equipment with me just in case - but also remember that many insurance policies provide free tire changing roadside assistance. If I am within a reasonable time for them to come out - they they get to do it
