Cool Tire Load Range Qusetion

I have to replace two tires on my Jayco 31rks and I want to go up a load range, from C to D. Can I run two load range C tires on one axle and two load range D on the other? Does it matter which axle has the D tires on it?

Interesting question, never ran across it before.

The one thing that comes to mind is the possibility of the overall diameter being "slightly" different between a "C" and "D" load range tire....... something to confirm.

I don't have enough knowledge on the subject to comment one way or the other..., but I personally prefer to keep my four TT tire specifications/ratings the same.

One thing to consider is the PSI allowed for your rim. On our White Hawks the Sendel wheel shows max PSI of 60 per the manufacturer. Given that a LRD tire has a max of 65 PSI, you have to take that into consideration.

I'm currently on the fence of whether to go 8-ply and take the risk with increased PSI, or just go the standard 6-ply route with the LRC.

You can run 8 ply at 60psi. But load range benifits will be much smaller given the lower pressures. To gain max benifit you would need to upgrade rims so you can run max air. Maxxis has a derating chart of tires based on air pressure. http://www.maxxis.com/trailer/traile...nflation-chart
But I have never mixed them on the same trailer so I don't know about that.

Have a 'd' right front axle and the rest are 'c'. Unit was pre-owned, and came that way. Have about 4000 miles on them, and I note the "d" seems a little warmer when I check them.

I wouldn't think it to be to big of problem, my biggest concern is why are two tires worn out?
