TireMinder booster mounting

I want to get a TireMinder TPMS for my SLX 245 RLS and wondered where other folks have mounted the signal booster and how you connected to the battery. The trailer has a single 12 volt battery on the tongue.

I’ve mounted my booster in 2 trailers, our X23B and our 5th. In the 23B I mounted it in the pass-thru storage and tapped into 12v at a nearby light. In the 5th I mounted it in the basement and found 12v in the same way.

I installed ours in the battery box. It easily picks up and boosts the signal. As for connecting it to the battery, it comes with alligator clips. Just clip it to the battery posts. Just make sure you go red to positive, black to negative.

In the battery box, the repeater is protected from weather.

This location is recommended in the owner manual if I recall.

In my NP377, I plugged it into cig socket behind bedroom TV. Double side taped it to wall behind TV. TST TPMS.

Make sure your batt box doesn’t collect water before mounting there. Went to storage to prep our relatively new HTT for a trip, and opened the box. Full of water! Discovered that’s pretty common until you make drain holes in the bottom. Rain gets in thru the vents in the cover.

All good suggestions, manual said on A frame is good as well since they claim the unit is waterproof. Appreciate the tips.

Mounted mine to the battery box cross frame on the A frame.
Used a round wire connector to the positive side of the battery and a quick disconnect to the negative side of the battery.

Made a mounting bracket out of a piece of 1/4" Aluminum bar stock. Installed a toggle switch to turn the booster unit on/off. Booster is powered from the load side of the battery disconnect switch and grounded directly to the frame with a ring terminal.

Mounted the booster face down to the road surface per the manufacturer's recommendation to get the strongest signal back to the tires.

For my TM setup, I use 12 transmitters due to no factory TPMS on the TV. I insist having one on the spares also. So, it’s seven on the dually and five on the NP377. I was having signal loss on some of the rear duallies and TV spare at times and also my 377 spare underneath at times. The included rhino booster was and still is attached facing the ground under the rig batteries with wire ties and using the batt spring clips. So, the company sent me an additional rhino booster at no charge to install underneath my TV, which is mounted to the frame under the driver. It fixed the duallies/spare signal loss, but occasionally I still get signal loss from the trailer undermounted spare. I’ve heard if a tire isn’t in motion, or the road gets too smooth, then the transmitter may sleep. I’m still happy with the system, despite these anomalies, and can’t imagine towing without such an alert system in place.

I may be in the minority here but I don't need the booster for my trailer. Its a 28BHBE and I have not lost signal since installing the system 2 years ago. I purchased the booster in anticipation of needing it, but I decided to try and run without it and it hasn't been a problem. I do change the batteries in the transmitters proactively every year as part of my start of season prep.
