Tires

Anyone running Goodyear Marathons? I have head some good and bad things about them. The new trailer came with them and we have a log trip coming up.Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with them. I understand its like anything else if a product is good you don't hear much about it, but as soon as it fails that all you hear about. I had cariles on my other trailer and herd nothing but bad things about them. We had them for 2.5 years and about 3500 miles and never had any trouble. Thanks for any in put.

We have the Goodyears on ours and haven't had any problems so far. Our trailer is an 08 and the DOT #'s on the tires are 07 so they are only 3 years old. Will probably replace them in another 2-3 years.

I have heard that Maxxis trailer tires are also very good.

i was talking to a tire dealer here in n.c.,all trailer tires are made now in china.thats why the cost is up import tax and no good.the dealer was telling me about a trailer tire made here in the states called turnpike made by GENERAL TIRE ,he has sold about 250 sets with no problems.4 tires 10 ply balanced instaled on my 08 322fks $329.00 total. Parish tire dists. it.i am going to try a set when needed.the turnpike tire can be looked up on the internet.

I've got Marathons on my boat that are 5 years old. The tires I have were made in the US though. I've heard that the ones made in China are crap, but no direct experience. I've also heard that some of the marathons are still made in the US, but you can't tell until you see the actual tire (it's stamped into the rubber).

Either way, I think they are still some of the best tires out there for trailers.

Our 19Bh has them and seem to be doing just fine , and again Made in USA

I have Made In USA Goodyears on mt TT it is a 2010 model built in January. I was told that Goodyear did make tires in China and that they were suspect of blow outs.

Thank for the input, I'll have to look at mine tomorrow and see if they are U.S. made. Also going to look up that turnpike tire from General. Thanks again.

I had problems with them. Here is a link to the details http://www.jaycoowners.com/showthread.php?t=676. Since then I replaced all four tires with load range D tires. Got back last night from an 800 mile round trip with no problems.

Every traveling day before the wheels start rolling check the tire pressure. This is the single most important thing you can do for any make of tire.. tow vehicle too. please be aware that ST (RV) tires are only rated to 65 MPH.
