We've been averaging 11,000 miles a year on our trailer. Very confident with GY Endurance and plan to buy new every three years. Have also installed heavier suspension and tires than the bare minimum stock that came with the trailer. So far I'm a big fan of Goodyear Endurance and Discount Tire company, would highly recommend them both.

My suggestion is go to a reputable tire dealer that has the Goodyear Endurance trailer tires. Once you look at the difference, especially how much sturdier the side walls are you'll settle on them. There is other advantages to these also. The sales person should be able to explain them to you. The Endurance is far better than the Marathon! BTW I work in a tire dealer and once I show a customer the difference they will typically upgrade to the Endurance.

I do wonder where people are driving as I find pot-holes in every road I drive on. Even many Interstates have pot holes.

The connection between potholes and "Blowouts" has been proven with controlled testing and research.

Count my vote for Goodyear Endurance. Immediate noticeable difference in towing, much smoother and quieter. Also higher max speed rating the OEM.

My 5th wheel has 16" rims and I'm told I could use LT tires (vs. Trailer) if I wanted but not really sure what the differences are or if it's worth the trouble.

I'm a truck tire guy.
After dealing with st tires over the years(major brands) I educated myself on tires.
Most st tires are speed rated at or below 65mph! One killer of tires.
Most st tires put on rvs are at max load for empty rv. Killer or tires
Tires may not be balanced. Killer of tires
So I switched to truck tires and my last set lasted 10yrs and could have gone further. But Discount Tire and I would imagine others WON'T touch or survive a tire thar old, not ever add air.
If I were you, I'd look for a truck tire you like that has a good higher margin of load capacity and a speed rating way north of 65mpg.
Get them balanced, proper air pressure, rotate like you would your TV tires, check at every stop for heat build up. Killer of tires.
Just some of my thoughts....

Armor all? Not something that I use on any auto part. Most detailers do not use it. the petroleum ingredients are said to dry rubber and vinyl.

8-10 years of sun, cramped turns that over flex sidewalls (look at your tires when you are backing and in a 45/60 degree turn) and hitting curbs is asking to be left in the middle of nowhere waiting for road service or changing your own tire. Not to mention what the blowout does to the rig.

Glad to hear good news on the Maxxis 8008 tires. Just replaced my original Goodyear Marathons that were 10 year old. I know I was on borrowed time with the tires, but I was going to replace in 2020 but it never got on the road. Time to do it now, to avoid a blowout.

Like I said, never had a problem, tires always shined like new, not a crack to be seen.

Goodyear Endurance have a speed rating of 87 MPH and are made in the USA!

When you buy new tires, have the wheels balanced.

tires

I did get new tires I went with the Maxxis tires. I just about went with the other ones, but the tire dealership was screwing me around with the price.
So I went with the other tires.
At a different tire dealer
