Toilet woes....

Okay so my worries about my fridge were moot. Newest concern is my toilet. Any one have a problem where as after flushing, the valve closes, but water keeps rushing in. It has occurred many times at this point and after repeated stepping on the lever it eventually shuts off. The real problem occurs when the kids use it and don't realize water is still flowing. Any thoughts on this one?

It is most likely sediment preventing the valve from closing completely. This seems to be a common problem with unfiltered water and RV's.

ALWAYS use a filter when hooked up to city water. Even when you fill the fresh water tank use a filter.

2X

Check if there is anything preventing the valve from closing all the way. You can try putting some olive oil on the valve and opening and closing it a few times to lube it. Olive oil will not hurt the rubber.

No need to bring your own margarine. I used the corn on the cob butter brush to lube the valve. The margarine never touches the bowl.

Good question! I'd prefer "I can't believe it's not butter" since I'm supposed to be watching my cholesterol.

Not before I rinse it off in cold water.

Wow never thought of using a brush to spread butter on the corn cob before. All these years trying to balance the butter on top of the cob. Thanks for that

As RV owners, we always look for dual purpose utensils.
The brush serves two purposes (lube toilet valve and cob).
The grill tongs are also dual purpose. They have to be when you own two dogs.
You'd be surprised how many uses one tool has. I only wish more friends would stop by so that I could show them
all the different items and their use. Seems like lately, everyone is too busy to stop by for a quick bite and a little chat.

You might also look under the lever (if you have a foot pedal) and see if there is anything obstructing the cable that actuates the valve inside the toilet.

P.S. Not sure if I'll eat corn on the cob, or margarine for that matter, again...

P.S.S. I've never liked olive oil anyway!

... "dual purpose utensils", what a concept.

I'm going to start using the drill and socket for the stabilizers to mix pancake batter.
