It is for a second battery

It is for a second battery. Size 24 battery case fits perfectly. The lower tray fits a size 27 battery case. When I went from 2 size 24 to 2 size 27 batteries I cut out a forward section of the tray so that it would fit the size 27 battery case. (See my other post for picture of where I cut the section of the tray out)
