Tongue Jack Foot question

Hey everyone,

New to Trailers! I picked up a new 2022 Jay Flight SLX7 184bs, and was looking for an extended foot.

I noticed all of the ones online are for 2 inch diameter tubes.

My unit has a BAL jack, and the OD of the tube is 1-7/8".

I checked on amazon as well, all are 2 inch.

2 questions:
1. What brand/model manual jack typically comes with jayco trailers? I ask because when I went to pick up my unit, they swapped out the jack in front of me, stating the original one wasn't very smooth. I didn't think anything ofi t, and watched the service tech swap it on the spot.
2. I'm assuming I cannot use the 2 inch diameter extended foot with this, correct?

I've never measured the tube on mine, but at 1-7/8, it should fit nicely in a 2" inside diameter hole with about 1/16" per side. A 2" diameter cylinder will not fit in a 2" diameter hole. There has to be some clearance unless you want a forced fit. Mine came with a swivel wheel, which I only use when it is parked in our driveway. When camping, I drilled a 2" hole about an inch into a piece of 4 x 6 that is about 8 inches long.

Thanks for the reply!

I should've been more clear, the ones I've found are all made for 2 inch diameter tubes.

Yesterday I ordered a Curt extended foot (model 28274), made for 2 inch tubes. And it has indents inside, I assume this is for the tube to sit on for support, but mine is too narrow and just slides all the way through.

I mean, unless the safety pin is what holds the tongue weight, I don't see how this would be usable. Maybe this is the case, as I haven't found any forum threads about finding a jack foot for a 1-7/8.

My Husky Brute electric tongue jack has a built foot that is adjustable using the pin. The pin is the only thing holding up the weight of the front of the trailer. I think it was designed to do that. Yours might be too.

When we had our 195 the wheel could come off (a cotter pin held it in) and the tube just rested on a piece of scrap wood. Nothing needed to be bought and the wood was big enough to resist the tongue sinking into soft ground.

Ditto on the adjustable foot and pin on my jack. I just use a 1 foot long piece of 6x6 under the foot so I don't have to extend it as far.

Here's a photo of it fitted, this is what concerns me, the fact just the pin is holding it.

Also,i measured incorrectly, the outer diameter of the tube is 1 5/8 (confirmed with a caliper). So it's even thinner.... See the photo of how much gap there is with a 2 inch diameter foot:

I called the dealer and they said this is the standard size that Jayco provides with this trailer.
