Tongue weight

So, here goes. I'm pretty sure someone has asked so I apologize in advance. I have a 2017 jayco slx 284bhsw. I pull it with a 2013 1500 Silverado 2wd c.c. lwb. I believe it's dry weight is 6045. What is my tongue weight? This is my truck. I've had air bags on it for a while to assist when I pull my car hauler and hay trailer. What is y'all thoughts? Click image for larger version

After you load your stuff the weight goes up. I'd expect 600-1000# of additional weight. Take the middle road at 800#. The TT weight is 6845#. Tongue is 12-15% of that. Assuming worst case, that's 1026#. Remember that weight winds up on the rear axle. So unless your rear axle has at least an additional 1000# of cargo, you'll be over weight.
If so, can you still tow? Probably, but can you stop in time?
I apologize for being a weight natzi, but to me it's an important topic.
A visit to the scales will help you figure all this out.
The CAT Scale is your friend.

As Red mentioned, the best thing to do is load the truck and trailer for a normal trip with all passengers, and on the way to the campsite stop by a CAT Scale.

You will want to weigh three times total as outlined in the CAT Scale How To link in my signature.

The sticker you posted from the truck is not the correct payload sticker. It is yellow and white, and states "All occupants and cargo not to exceed XXXXlbs". That is the rated payload of your truck as it rolled off the assembly line.

Post back with your weights and we can figure all the weights if you need us to. Just make sure to follow the how to and weigh three times.

10-4. Closest scale is 45 miles away. I'll go by with the Trucl first to get a base line. Then when I can get everyone together, I'll do a full run scale test.
