I tow our X17A with our Rav4. It is very capable and very stable. Some things I have done. Rear springs swapped out for the 7 passenger springs (from when we had the popup), Long Trail BFG tires, OEM receiver (16 mounting points VS. 4 with aftermarket,very important IMO), External Trans cooler, Prodigy P3 controller and a Progressive industries E4 6k hitch. I also run Premium fuel when towing. It does make a difference. Make sure to tow in 4th ALWAYS.

I typically keep my anti sway installed at all times but I do loosen it if there is no wind. The reason is I believe it can be damaged when turning tight or especially backing up. When it is set tight I get out and loosen it when I pull into my site.

LOL....Great Feedback! nbhybrid, Is your RAV4 V6, with two prep package also? You mention to drive in 4th when towing always?

Yes it has the prep pkg. All V6 ravs sold in Canada had the prep pkg but the "trans cooler" is integrated and useless IMO.
Never drive in overdrive. Transmission will build up too much heat hunting for gears

Best way to tow. Unnoticeable fuel economy difference and a ton easier on the transmission not having to lock in and out.
Another thing I always do after a long tow on the road is when I stop for gas,food or arrive at the CG I leave the engine running for a bit instead of shutting it off. Cools the tranny down faster

Put your car keys or something you will see on a cloths pin and clip to your crank up TV antenna handle. That way you don't forget and yank it out going under something. As stated above travel as light as possible. Get groceries and fill water tank at last place available before you camp.

And get tranny fluids flushed often. It only cost $60 for my dodge diesel.

I have a Jayco 195rb on order which I too will be pulling with my Rav 4 with towing package. Would love to know what your towing experience has been?
What also was the tagged dry weight on your specific trailer.

It's been a bit overwhelming with all the information in this fantastic forum. That's why I asked for "top 5 things", but got a lot more then I asked for. I love it! LOL
My main thing is understanding how everything works, the plumbing, the tanks, connecting the TV to TT, the weight limits, driving on the freeway, etc...I spent a lot of time in this forum just searching by keywords and I also spent time on youtube. But for the most part I learned things in this forum. The response to my questions is impressive and in detail. Asked only 2 so far, but will ask more in the future, I'm sure.
For my first camping trip I picked easy drive (or at least I thought it was going to be), nice CG site with full hook ups. Enjoy your TT, you will love it!

The drive was a lot better and easier then I expected it to be. Tagged dry weight on my trailer was 2520lbs.

Thanks for the reply Hari1010. I just finished reading through all of the responses you received and they were SO helpful. This whole experience will be completely new for me; I didn't even put gas in my own car until this year. I am however, very excited.
I'm sure I'll have questions once I actually have mine on hand.

My salesman told us alwys unhook anti sway when backing up

that is why I decided since I am spending thousands on a new trailer I am getting some of the best equipment to do it well. Equalizer hitch with built in 4 point sway control and nothing to unhook
