Tow vehicle power supply works, trailer battery not

The trip was trouble free and she was parked out front for cleanup and plugged into the house with A/C running and a storm rolled thru and knocked out power for several hours. The next day, I took her to the storage lot and discovered no power was coming from the trailer battery but the tow vehicle power worked fine.

I know its not the battery cause I've tried two and neither fixed the issue and no fuses in the block are blown.

Sadly, that exhausts my understanding of all things electrical.

Any suggestions?

30amp fuse between the battery and the trailer. Mines mounted on the frame just behind the tongue. Power surge probable blew it out

Yes, there is an inline fuse between the battery and the trailer on all models to protect the trailer in the event of power surge/battery shorts etc. They aren't all in the same place but follow the battery wires from the battery back and you'll eventually find a 30amp blade fuse. Almost guarentee it's blown. Very common issue, I blew mine with my power jack the first day I owned it

I spent an hour over, around and underneath tracing all the wires and found no fuse. They just disappear up underneath thru the bottom. Any other suggestions?

Start with the wire that hooks to the positive post on the battery and follow it back. The fuse should be there unless modifications were made.

It's there somewhere, there is always a fuse but I've heard of guys finding them under the bunk, under couches, behind cabinets. Somewhere in your system is a 30amp fuse between your battery and your converter/fuse panel. Heck it might be hidden behind your converter for all that's worth. If it works off of your tow vehicle and it works off the plug then there is a "disconnect" between your battery and the load center getting the juice. Heck it could just be a bad ground on your battery. You could always run a quick ground wire from your negative battery post to frame just to rule that out. The power surge you mention has fuse blown written all over it. Call Jayco and ask them where they hid the inline battery fuse on that model.

Thanks. Jayco says its up underneath the dinette seat. I'll check it out later this evening when it's less than 106 degrees.

It's not always a fuse, mine has a circuit breaker mounted to the front of the first frame cross-member.

The only fuse up front was for the power tongue jack, but I replaced that with a circuit breaker when I installed the new jack.

Thanks all. It was a blown fuse hidden under the rear most dinette seat. Live and learn.
