Mine has 2 vents. It's a 2015. One bathroom power vent. One out between the dinette table and kitchen pantry that is not powered.

Jealous!

It would be nice to have more than one vent for some cross-ventilation...

Well, don't be too jealous. The fans are located pretty close together. Opening a bedroom window window would be much better venation....

Yeah, that's pretty close. Still, it would be nice to have something. I can't open a bedroom window when it's in storage, but we've been known to crack a window or two when we're in it if we need to...

Will be one vent in the bathroom. We wish ours had another in the Master bedroom to siphon off the hot air when camping in State Parks without electricity. Been pulling our 284BHBE for two years with our 2010 F150 with Maxtow F150 with no concerns whatsoever. Look at the actual capacities of your truck when evaluating whether you can pull safely pull or not rather than rely on the uninformed comments that the 284BHBE requires a 3/4 ton as there are many others who actually have experience pulling this trailer with properly equipped modern F150's. Look into a good quality WD hitch if you decide to pull with your current TV.

I did pull this trailer with a F150 ecoboost. I loved the truck, but towing was not fun on the highway.

I tried road master active suspension to help out. I honestly could not tell a difference unloaded, or loaded. I removed them because they were causing my springs to squeak.

I was considering LT tires and airbags as a second attempt to improve towing with this load. But I ended up getting a bigger truck (for different reason).

Yeah, this surprised me when we started looking at trailers last spring, how few had vents in the main cabin areas.

When we stayed in the mountains of New Mexico in a "Crossover-X", it would get scorching hot during the day, but at night we'd just open up the ceiling vents and the trailer would be nice and cool all evening.

Looks like with our new trailer, we'll have to run the AC before bedtime, with a generator if need be.

As for Timbrens, I have them on my truck and they seem to compress just fine with my 284BHBE trailer (the Eagle version of the one everyone's talking about here). I haven't noticed any excessive bouncing, even when it's just me in the truck and the trailer is dry and empty (i.e. we still haven't loaded it up "for real" yet).

I'm just afraid I don't have enough load to compress the Timbrens. My sticker says 3k, and I'm running a load probably around 1200-1500 lbs max, including tongue weight. If they're not compressed slightly when loaded (at least as far as I've read) then they'll bounce off the axle and create a worse ride than what you started with.

Oh well, I guess I'm back to optimizing my hitch first... Then we'll see what happens.
You may not need them from what you describe. I do know of some who had the same complaint and the Timbrens customer service sent them some spacers that fixed the problem.

I agree. I really need to focus on my hitch first. I'm asking too much of it I think. Either way, I think I would feel better with a higher rated hitch. With my current hitch, if I'm not over its 1000 lb rating, I'm close.

I looked at the Timbren option and found another, Sumo Springs. Found them to be half the price of air bags and no moving parts or lines to pinch/melt/wear through they are the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle of rear suspension assist.
They work much like the Timbrens replacing the OEM bump stop on the rear leaf spring. However unlike the Timbren they are in constant contact with the spring and frame so no "wait for it, there's the contact moment *BUMP*, just gradual compression of the Sumo Spring.
In combination with the WD hitch properly set up our Frontier hauls the trailer (21FB) @ 5K lbs loaded nice and level (both truck and trailer) with no squirelly steering feel or excessive rear squat. In day to day use they are almost the same in feel and performance as the OEM suspension having a progressive compression rate.
Just my $.02 but they are worth a look.

This was my first summer towing with rear timbrens. I have had them on the front of my Tahoe for years and when we upgraded to the camper we are in now, I couldn't get the sag out of the truck with just the wdh. I installed the timbrens and have been very pleased while towing. My truck is 12 years old now and has a bunch of miles on it, so the springs have warn and the vehicle constantly sits on the timbrens, so the ride empty is like riding in a lumber wagon as my wife says, but really cleans up with the camper on.

I had a 2012 F-150 Ecoboost w/ 3.72 gears. No issues towing my 5'er. I did upgrade the suspension and added Timbrens. Eventually, I realized I was asking this truck to do more than it was designed to do. I miss the F-150, but towing with a 2500 is a breeze. Besides, I want to start going thru the Smokies and go out west. The F-150 would be way out of its league on that terrain. Flat terrain mixed with caution, it can be done. People underestimate the power and torque of a Ecoboost. In the end, it is not all about the power and torque.
