I have used a bicycle cable lock on mine and locked it to the frame of the TT.

take mine out. While I can see the arguments for leaving it in, I have banged my shin on it and it sucks. Ditto for the grease. Also, here in Ontario, it is illegal to keep your hitch attached to the vehicle and the fine is not small either. One fine equals one less camping trip.

Wow, I`m not sure if there is a law here in ol Virgiinie regarding having a hitch in the receiver but if it was enforced there would be blue lights on all the time! This is hitch country for sure, at least here in Hick County...

I have yet to find a actual law that says it is illegal to leave your hitch in when not pulling a trailer. people say it is, but as yet I have not seen anyone post a link to a law in any state. so, if someone knows for sure ,could you please post a link.
